I hadn't even thought about spam as an issue, but you are definitely right about that. Another issue is when students are searching for pictures on Google images. Often times, inappropriate images come up! It is really difficult to prevent that kind of stuff from happening regardless of how many computers you have access to in your classroom/school. I also like how you mentioned computers breaking so that even with the best of planning things may not work out as they were planned. At my school the students continuously pop the keys off of the laptops in the computer lab. This is very costly and makes the lab unusable for long periods of time. It is definitely something worth putting on your list!
ReplyDeleteIt is true, even with safe search set on google search, still naughty images come up. I always talk to my kids about it, ignore it and not to show their fellow students. We know anyone can post anything on the internet and it is something very important for them to learn.
